Her first day of school.
Another big milestone was Will's 4th birthday. He is really into firetrucks and firefighters right now. So I made him a firetruck cake. Thank goodness for cake tutorials on You Tube.

He had a fun birthday with his family.
We took him out to eat for Pizza at the Pie Pizzaria on his birthday.
We also surprised him with a really nice German made Firetruck toy with all the bells and whistles.
A few days after Will's birthday, Derek's mom arrived from Wisconsin to stay with us for a couple weeks. We really enjoy having her here and love when she can come spend some time with us and her grandkids.
She drove out with her friend David who stayed for a few days. We took them on a few rides and visited a few places we thought they'd be interested in seeing. We drove to a few old mining towns. First to Opher and then to Eureka. It's amazing to me the history these old towns emanate.
An old mine chute..I think.
Taking the back road to Eureka in the land cruiser.
Cool old buildings. I REALLY wanted to go inside!
Kids making faces with grandma and David.
We made a stop at Camp Floyd and they were having their annual Labor Day events. People were dressed up in period costume and had all kinds of historical education booths. Evie and Will had fun trying out the old time kids games.
The Stagecoach Inn. I love living in the west...there is so much fascinating history.
This woman was showing how to spin wool. She had some beautiful samples of some things she had made by hand that were amazing.

Well as per usual your children are adorable. And that cake is amazing!
