I can't believe it's been so long since I've updated my blog. Things have been pretty uneventful really. I'm sure that will end as soon as summer begins. We have been working on getting our yard finished and the many weeds killed that we inherited when we bought our house last summer. The weeds are finally dying and our grass is turning green. Hurray!! Now if we can only finish the blasted backyard before summer is over!
Evie and I planted a little vegetable garden together a few weeks ago. We planted zucchini, winter squash, spaghetti squash, pumpkins, cucumbers, and radishes.
Derek has been super busy for the past month. Two drill weekends in a row. So he basically had one Friday off for two weeks and that was it. Then he went to Wisconsin for four days to visit his family. His grandma hasn't been doing well so he went for a little visit and to help his Mom out a bit. Last week, he had to make his monthly trip to Spokane which was a four day trip as well. He arrived home on Thursday and we left for our trip to Colorado on Friday morning. He was scheduled to go for some training in Colorado Springs for the guard which was to only last a day, so we decided to make a little trip of it. I'm pretty sure he would have loved to just go get it over with and come home, but he knew I needed a break from things. Becky home with the kids for almost a month by herself makes for a grumpy Becky :) July should be interesting....
